Tax Liability Disclaimer
Introduction
This Tax Liability Disclaimer (“Disclaimer”) governs the use of services provided by and information presented on the website of RL Hinton CPA PC (hereinafter “the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Our Firm, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is committed to providing the highest caliber of tax preparation, accounting, and advisory services. This Disclaimer is intended to clearly define the scope of our responsibilities and to delineate the responsibilities of our clients (hereinafter “you” or “the client”) in our professional engagements.
By engaging our services or utilizing information from this website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set forth in this Disclaimer.
1. Client’s Responsibility for Information Accuracy
The accuracy and completeness of any tax return, financial statement, or advisory service are fundamentally dependent upon the information provided by the client. The Firm shall prepare tax returns and provide advisory services in reliance upon the financial records, documents, and representations furnished by you.
You, the client, affirm that you are solely responsible for:
Providing all necessary, accurate, and complete information required for the preparation of your tax returns and other financial documents.
Substantiating all income, deductions, credits, and other items with appropriate documentation as required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Informing us of all sources of income, tax-related transactions, and any potential tax liabilities of which you are aware.
The Firm is not engaged to perform an audit, review, or compilation of your financial data. We will not independently verify the information you provide unless we are specifically engaged to do so in a separate written agreement. We shall not be held liable for any penalties, interest, additional taxes, or other damages resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or false information supplied by the client.
2. Final Taxpayer Responsibility
Pursuant to the regulations of the IRS and the Georgia Department of Revenue, the ultimate responsibility for a tax return rests with the taxpayer. Your signature on a tax return, whether electronic or physical, certifies under penalty of perjury that you have examined the return and its accompanying schedules and statements, and to the best of your knowledge and belief, they are true, correct, and complete.
While we exercise due professional care in the preparation of your returns, engaging our services does not absolve you of this final responsibility. You should review every return carefully and ask any questions you may have before signing and filing. The Firm’s liability is strictly limited to the professional fees paid for the specific service from which a claim may arise.
3. No Guarantee of Outcomes
The field of taxation is complex and subject to varying interpretations and frequent legislative changes. The Firm makes no promises or guarantees regarding the outcome of any tax filing, the amount of any refund, or the avoidance of an audit by any taxing authority. Any advice provided is based on our professional judgment and interpretation of tax laws and regulations as they exist at the time the advice is rendered.
4. Scope of Services & Not Legal Advice
Our services are limited to tax preparation, accounting, and financial advisory matters within the scope of the Certified Public Accountant profession. The information provided on this website and in client consultations should not be construed as legal advice. Matters involving the interpretation or application of law may require the services of a licensed attorney. We strongly advise you to consult with qualified legal counsel for such matters.
